Justin Bayless
Founder, CEO, & General Partner
Justin Bayless is a native Phoenician who graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Morehouse College and started his career with Morgan Stanley in New York City as an analyst. Justin’s tenure on Wall Street was short-lived as he left his position in the investment banking division to join his father in the family mental health business in his hometown.
Justin became driven to find solutions to complex problems in the healthcare industry, particularly in communities that would otherwise be left behind. Relentless in his pursuit of improving the patient experience, Bayless Integrated Healthcare paved the way by incorporating the most important healthcare services under one roof: primary care and behavioral health. In 2018, Bayless Integrated Healthcare also became one of the first healthcare providers in America to be designated as a Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) accredited telehealth provider.
Justin led Bayless Integrated Healthcare to be featured on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list for the fastest-growing private companies in America three years in a row (2018, 2019, and 2020) before executing a strategic transaction with Magellan Health Inc. (NASDAQ: MGLN), a Fortune 500 company, in December 2020. Magellan Health was subsequently acquired by Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), a Fortune 25 company, in January 2022. Justin subsequently transitioned away from the 40-year-old family business in February 2022. Justin exited the family business with a nine-figure valuation and growth of employees from 6 to 600, and patients served from 200 to over 50,000 annually.
Justin has been featured in numerous awards and publications, including but not limited to: one of the top 35 Arizona Entrepreneurs under 35 in 2013 by the Arizona Republic, 2017 Non-Physician Healthcare Hero by the Phoenix Business Journal, 2017 Spirit of Enterprise Award by the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, 2019 AZ Industry Leaders by AZ Business Magazine, 2019 40 under 40 by the Phoenix Business Journal, 2021 AZ Telehealth Leader by Arizona Business Magazine, and as one of Modern Healthcare’s 2021 Top 25 Emerging Leaders.
Justin has now dedicated himself to assisting entrepreneurs with achieving their dreams. He serves as President of The Journey Venture Studio, Advisory Board Member and Limited Partner to the Morgan Stanley Next Level Fund as well as a Mentor to the Black Ambition program. In addition, he continues his passion for philanthropic work, and he has recently established entrepreneurship programs at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Valley and Morehouse College. Justin’s first book, The Journey to Ten Figures, focuses on inspiring the next generation of underrepresented entrepreneurs.
